In The Silence of The Garden by James Wilkins @ Fullerton Hotel – Gallery R

.
Upon the warm reception in Singapore with the debut exhibition ORIGINS in August 2012, Gallery R brings to you a new magnificent showcase by James WilkinsIN THE SILENCE OF THE GARDEN.

Fascinated by what the nature whispers in his ears (or eyes, should we say), the absolute beauty of the “Asian Garden” profoundly struck Wilkins. In many ways, more like a fairy tale of mystery and wonder than an urban environment, the photographer has set out to present a collection of images that celebrates all of the magic of the ever-lovely gardens.

Floating flowers, rolling waves, gleaming sun and dramatic palm crests are all part of this exhibition, along with the most recently created butterfly pieces, whose movement cannot quite be audibly discerned… in the silence of the garden.

The launch of Gallery R will take place at The Arts House in Singapore  with the presentation of New York based fine art photographer James Wilkins. The solo exhibition took place in August 26-29th 2012. James  Wilkins’ photographic works capture and re-interpret patterns and the
poetics of the natural elements in flowers and water, among many other  subjects, creating profoundly original representations ranging from surrealism to scupltural forms.

James’ mission is always “to contribute to and promote the transformation of the experience of life, through images whose content, meaning and beauty uplift the human experience“.

Gallery R will further exhibit the artist throughout southeast Asia, India  and Australia in addition to inclusion in the prestigious Art Stage Singapore 2013.

Based in Singapore, GALLERY R is a collective of international artists, created to bring awareness to environmental issues through a Fine Art inspired by the natural world.
The mission of Gallery R is to foster a consciousness and a creative  response to global environmental concerns through contemporary art and practice. It proudly represents international artists, whose work is inspired by the natural world or addresses environmental issues.

Uniquely, the mission of Gallery R was conceived by 7-year-old Rohinish Gupta, who looking at Wilkins´art work was able to establish a connection between the nature portrayed and Global Warming concerns. This student at UWCSEA saw the power of this art to create awareness around environmental issues and to positively impact the sustainability of the planet, by giving back to the source of inspiration – nature itself.  Putting into practice Rohinish´s idea, Gallery R will revert part of its proceeds in result of the exhibitios to NGO related to the environmental cause.
