Mother’s Day on the Sunny Island

Mother’s Day (母亲节 Hari Ibu அன்னையர் தினம்) is a celebration honouring mothers, motherhood, maternal bonds and the influence of mothers in society. In Singapore, Mother’s Day is celebrated on the second Sunday in May – it’s Sunday, 13 May 2012. It is not a public holiday, nor is it known as a holiday, but it is still special and significant to mankind.

Aside from the respect and gratitude that we ought to show our dear mothers on a daily basis, let us spend some time this Mother’s Day to reflect on all our others have done for us. What better to do than to offer her our heartfelt gratitude and pamper her with a day of indulgence!
